What’s In Your Purse? 10 Feng Shui Wealth-Producing Tips for Handbags

It’s an indispensable tool, a valuable fashion asset and a source of all manner of important things like breath mints, a safety pin to fix a broken zipper, or keys to entertain a toddler. A woman’s purse is a collector of things – and sometimes those things are downright unhealthful.

According to recent studies, a woman’s purse ranks as one of the top ten germiest items we come in contact with on a regular basis. Ironically, a woman’s handbag is also the place where she carries her wealth and financial power.

Is your purse a symbol of wealth or is it a danger to your health? Maybe it’s a little of both.

Interestingly, for women, a purse is often a symbol of the self. An attractive, organized purse makes us feel better and more in control of our lives. When our purses are a mess and we can’t find anything, we feel lost and our bank accounts often reflect that scattered state.

Simply put, a purse with good feng shui is a purse that is organized, a handy resource, and supports its principal purpose: holding your money and financial wherewithal.

Read these tips to get your purse in tip top feng shui shape — and make you more prosperous!

1. Elevate your purse.

You’d never see a man put his wallet on the floor, yet women put their purses on the floor all the time – in the restroom, at restaurants, at work. Always keep your purse elevated and off the floor. And never, ever, put it on the floor of the restroom. Hang it on a door hinge or the corner of the door. A great idea is to buy a purse hanger for those times when you want to put your purse down, but not on a floor.

2. Keep it clean.

Resist the temptation to throw gum or food wrappers, bits of paper or used tissues into your purse. What does it say when you carry trash in the same place as your money? Garbage should go in a trashcan and never into a purse.

3. Mind the change.

Avoid throwing change into your purse where it will fall to the bottom of the bag. This is disrespectful to money. If it’s too inconvenient to put change into a zippered coin compartment in your wallet, buy an old fashioned coinpurse that makes collecting change easy – and getting it out for tolls or parking meters — convenient too.

4. Be prepared.

Carry a small safety pin, a tiny container of dental floss, a small notepad with pen, a small pocketknife, highlighter pen and bottle of eye drops. Little items that make your purse a point of refuge in the world make you love your purse even more. Better still, when someone has a broken zipper they will forever remember you and your purse of wonders! Lastly, carry a $100 bill, but don’t spend it. Having a purse (and some cash) at the ready helps you be prepared for financial surprises.

5. Activate your purse.

If you see pretty hanging Chinese ornaments or tassels put some of these on your purse. These hangers are great for pumping up the feng shui volume of your purse and activating it for wealth. Choose hangers that appeal to you and that look especially pretty and coordinated. Yes, pretty is good feng shui!

6. Buy thoughtfully.

Like a bra, never buy a purse just for the fashion name or for how it looks. Make sure the purse hangs on your shoulder comfortably, and like a good bra, stays there. Even better, find a purse with enough compartments to hold small items like pens, your cell phone, and other items you need to get to quickly. Make sure you can easily close your purse for security sake, that you can find what you need and that the purse is working for you, not the other way around.

7. Use a key keeper.

These small hooks fit onto your purse and keep you from fishing around for your keys, which can endanger you if you’re trying to find them at night in an empty parking lot. By hanging on the edge of your purse, you can access your keys faster and more easily. This says you can find your way financially too.

8. Avoid wallet clutter.

Get a wallet that helps you stay organized with your money. Your money should be easily arranged, not rammed into a wad, and your credit cards should be easily accessible. Also, have only as many credit cards as you absolutely need. Too many credit cards becomes a financial trap, a credit score nightmare, and, well, clutter. When the clerks ask if you want one of the store-name-credit cards, tell them “No thanks; I’m cutting down on wallet clutter.” Who can argue with that?

9. Buy a purse in your personal wealth color.

Selecting a purse in a color that resonates with your personal wealth energy will help stimulate your wealth and money-making opportunities. If you don’t want to buy a purse in your personal wealth colors, other good options include red, metallic, white, black, and blue. Greens are also fine and a nice choice in 2010. The best choice for the year? Blue.

10. Pursue love.

The No. 1 feng shui rule for your purse? Don’t buy it unless you absolutely love it – and then treat it that way. Keep it clean, organized, and off the floor. Your money mojo will be activated and you’ll have more to spend and save. Show some purse love!

Creating Wealth Chi – Energizing your home with wealth symbols

Our homes, like our dreams, speak in symbols. The art, the symbols, shapes, and colors we surround ourselves with at home tells a story of our lives. Mine speaks to a love of travel and does so in the artwork that I’ve collected from around the world. It’s important that we place objects and items in our house that inspire and motivate us.

We need items that make us feel good and help us move forward in life and lift up our energy. Clutter has way of pressing down that energy. When we fill our homes with excess stuff we have to ask ourselves what is it we are avoiding.

Open space can be intimidating and clutter fills space. Keeping excess stuff, especially collections, puts distance between us and our feelings or keeps us from intimate relationships because things can quickly and rapidly take the place of people — and even keep us from ourselves. In the process of removing the excess stuff in your life, you don’t just find space, you’ll find yourself.

It’s good feng shui to use auspicious symbols and enhancers around your home or office. This is a great way to lift the energy of your home and your life. But you must have the space for it first. If you place a beautiful symbol in your home in the midst of clutter and excess, you will miss the effect and the ability of the symbol to work its magic for you.

As I write this, I am sitting on the balcony of my home. What strikes me is that the garden beyond my balcony is a mix of open spaces and gardens, with broad lawns and curving gardens that allow energy to gather and flow. The waterfall flows and water gurgles in the pool.

It’s because of the open, neat, and restrained landscape that the cascading water of the pool becomes more prominent. When you clear the excess from your home, any symbols and beautiful elements you place there will become not only more noticeable but more potent in your life.

Add symbols for wealth and prosperity around your home and garden. When your whole space is energized, it becomes magnetic to wealth.

Use these 6 ideas for your home

1. Add a water source
Water is vital for attracting and stimulating wealth. Even a simple urn with a pump can bring beautiful, positive “sheng chi” — the kind of chi that attracts prosperity to a home. (Psst…You can see two of my water enhancers in my blog.)

2. Look for symbols to add to your entrance
My own front door has a mat that evokes the mystic knot — a symbol of enduring love, wealth and abundant opportunities. This simple mat was bought at Lowe’s for $10 — but the opportunities it’s brought have been worth much, much more!

3. Use Chinese coins.
These are the round coins with the square hole in the middle and Chinese script on one side. Place these coins in your business or money files, tape them to a phone and carry them in your purse or wallet. Place an auspicious number of coins under your mattress to stimulate wealth and let you sleep on top of wealth energy! Use your imagination to use these, just make sure you put the Chinese script side up…not the underside… and tie them with red ribbon to “activate” them.

4. Place water symbols prominently
Water equals wealth. You’ve heard me say that over and over. Place pictures of water, ships, and fish in important areas. Avoid placing any water elements in bedrooms, though. Pictures of sailing ships at the entrance to your office or home (with the ships appearing to sail into the room) are especially good harbingers of good career and money news!

5. Dress up
Dressing in a more elegant and refined way gets you better treatment at stores, airports, hotels, restaurants — and treated like a person of prominence. Start being — and looking — like what you aspire to! Here’s the great thing — you just have to look the part. You don’t have to spend a wad on designer duds. As long as your look says “prosperous” that’s all that matters.

6. Tap the phoenix
The phoenix bird brings wonderful opportunities as it is the “God of the Four Winds.” The phoenix will magnify your potential for success and draw others to you who can see your magnificence — and that attracts prosperity. Place the phoenix or other beautiful bird (rooster, peacock) on the south corner of your desk or in your office or living room, or place a small boulder out the front of your house to resemble a footstool — this taps the phoenix celestial guardian of your home and raises your good name and brings more opportunities to you.

Round — The Shape of Wealth

In feng shui every direction, such as north, south, or northeast has a number, color, element and a shape associated with it. Each shape has a distinct meaning. For instance, the tall, rectangular shape of wood is associated with growth. The shape associated with “big metal” or the northwest is round. This is also the shape of coins – or “change” – and wealth.

The round shape is a shape that is seen as very yang and active. A round ball or coin takes very little effort to get it to roll and keep moving. Try making a block of wood move and it stops dead. But round and circular shapes have movement to them and that’s what makes them yang.

Yet in many homes, the round shape is often missing. Décor elements tend to go square and rectangular versus circular or curving.

But what does that circular shape have to do with wealth?

For one thing, wealth comes from movement and energy. The times we make the most money most often come when we expend the most energy and movement. And think of coins. Their round shape has kept them moving in and out of our purses and pockets for thousands of years now.

The round shape is also associated with “big metal” and big metal makes water in the feng shui five element theory — and water is wealth. Therefore, adding metal to your environment adds more water based on the productive cycle and that means more money for you.

When you’re interested in developing more wealth and increasing prosperity, make sure you incorporate more round shapes and circles in your home environment. The tips below will help you to put more water-producing (read: wealth producing) energy in your home – and your pocketbook!

Use circles in your décor

Sofas, drapes, and carpeting can all be selected with circular shapes and fabric patterns. Select soothing and muted patterns because strong circles and dots can create a restless energy that makes relaxing difficult.

Dot your landscape with circles

Whether you have a round fountain in your garden or circular stepping stones, adding circles to the landscape will generate water energy that will “feed” your garden dragon. Curving shapes also induce a watery feel to the garden which generates more prosperity chi!

Select circular accessories

A wonderful choice for increasing wealth is a metal wealth bowl. Filled with faux jewels or semiprecious stones that “feed” the metal bowl, the wealth bowl will be even more productive at generating watery wealth energy. Round shaped accessories that are metal are best at generating more movement and wealth energy in your home. Round plates on stands are another excellent wealth producing accessory – especially those that are gold or silver-colored.

Choose circular furnishings

Too often furniture is very square, solid, and energy-stopping. To bring more wealth-producing energy to your home, select chairs that are round and curved. But avoid selecting round baby cribs or beds. These are too energetic and will impede your sleep and ability to fully rest.

Round jewelry

You can even add round shapes to yourself. To generate more water and wealth energy, choose jewelry pieces that are round or circular. These are also especially wonderful if they have any kind of stones or jewels on them to activate them.

The front door plays a very special role in feng shui. Often described as the “mouth of chi,” the front door, is the entryway for energy into your home. Many people never use the actual front door, though, so they often ask if this affects their feng shui.

The answer is yes. That’s because the front door is usually at the center of the home and faces the road — a symbol of water — which equates to wealth.

A key feature of the front door is that it normally is designed to face the view of a road, street, or other feature, such as a lake. Sometimes a house has a tremendous view of a valley or view of the city or lake at the back of the house.

In that case, the “facing direction” of a house is where the most “yang” energy exists. In these cases, it would be at the rear of the house because of these terrific views. Architecturally, some houses are very small at the front and large and expansive at the rear. This would make the “front” wherever the large, open, and expansive side or view is.

Again, this is uncommon, but it does affect what is considered the front or facing direction. So, look at your house to determine the most “yang side” when you are trying to determine where the front door is on your house. Use the door intended by the architect
More common, is the broad expanse and open front of a house that is positioned facing the street. The door also normally faces the street. This is the most typical situation and it remains the standard arrangement for most houses — and it’s the door intended as the front door by the architect. It is also the place where a delivery person will go if they’ve never been to your house. Now that we have that established, let’s talk about why the “real” front door is so important.

The front door to the house is the doorway of energy. Because it faces the street (a conduit for water), this is an opportunity for wealth energy to enter the house. Therefore, every time you enter your home through the front door, you will be activating the entryway and creating an opportunity for wealth to enter your house.

The front door is also a location of opportunity…and we all know that opportunities often bring greater wealth (raises, increased salaries, windfalls) with them. Also, a house that never has the front door opened is a house that’s low in energy — and that impacts wealth. Because the street is usually in front of the house (which means “water” is at the front), opening the door allows water energy to enter in the front of the house — the ideal location for water in feng shui.

Enter through a side door and watch money slip from your hands
Many people frequently ask if they no longer use the front door and enter the house from the side, or a kitchen door, or a garage door, should they consider that as their “front door”? The answer: absolutely NOT. I will usually ask that person if they are experiencing financial difficulties. In fact, most all have severe financial problems. Use the front door if you would like those problems to lessen.

Enter through the laundry room, kitchen, etc. and see your finances suffer
If you enter the house through a laundry room, you are watching your money go down the drain symbolically, with bills larger than you expected. If you enter through the kitchen, you’ll literally “burn through the cash” with one expense cropping up after another — and it could cause you to gain weight if the kitchen is the first thing you see when you enter the house.

Still, knowing that the front door is so important to enter, many people still insist on using a back door or side door out of convenience. If you are entering through a garage or kitchen or other service room or porch, you are harming your opportunities for more money to come to you. In light of that, isn’t it a good idea to use the front door?

After all, we create beautiful entry areas and if they’re only used by solicitors, delivery people, or the occasional visitor, you’re wasting an opportunity to bring more energy — and more wealth — into your home. You might also find that opportunities suddenly appear when you begin using your front door. Why use your front door and beautiful foyer only for a delivery person, mailman, or visitors? After all, you are the most important person to enter your house. So treat yourself as good — or better — than anyone else by using the front door every day.

Your House Color Affects Your Success and Wealth – Tips For Selecting Paint Colors

If your relationships are tired and money flies through your hands your house might just be the wrong color. Maybe life is a constant struggle and you can’t put your finger on the one small thing blocking your success. The answer could be as simple as the color on your house.
For instance, if your house is painted the wrong color for the direction it faces, you might be losing money. A good example of this is an east- or southeast-facing house that is painted white. This is a great example of houses that lose money or whose residents suffer from ill health or poor family relationships.

White is the color of metal and east and southeast are wood-facing directions. Because metal cuts wood (think of an ax or a chainsaw), the success of the house is affected.

Color can be confusing — but it doesn’t have to be
When it comes to choosing house colors, it can be very confusing and difficult to make a decision. Most are not sure what will look good or what’s the best choice is for their house.

Feng shui provides several starting points for color selection because each color has a different meaning and direction associated with it.

However, if you can paint your house a color that is harmonious with the direction it faces, you will help create a beneficial environment in the home, and help harmonize it with the environment, thereby making life go smoother and easier.

Use good design sense when choosing good feng shui colors
For example, color in feng shui means different things. Black is the color of money, but a black house won’t necessarily make you rich. However, a house that faces north and is painted white with black trim on the shutters and front door, and has brass trimmings, is a perfect example of a house that is harmonized with its environment. That’s because white is a metal color and metal makes water — making white a “productive color” for a house.

This also means the color and direction are harmonious. Feng shui is often referred to as a method for creating harmony. Harmony – in feng shui – means that colors, elements, shapes, and numbers are all supportive and beneficial for one another.

A Feng Shui Guide to Choosing House Color
Use feng shui to harmonize house color with the direction that it faces.

White (creativity/children): Good for west, northwest and north-facing houses as it reflects light well.

Green/Purple (growth/good health/wealth): Good for east and south-facing houses.

Blue/Purple (career/wealth/opportunities): Good for north, east, and southeast facing houses.

Yellow/Beiges/Gold (ochre) (relationships/stability): Good for northeast, west, southwest, and northwest facing house. Yellow is a color of wisdom and study.

Reds/Pinks (social status, recognition, relationships): South, southwest, and NE facing houses benefit from these colors.

Browns (health, happy family relationships): Good for growth and longevity and excellent for east-facing houses and good for the south (fire) direction.

Taupe (relationships, stability, grounding): This color is excellent for the northeast and southwest because these are “earth” directions and taupes are earthy or stone-type colors. It also helps stabilize relationships and promote family harmony – particularly for the woman of the household.

What about trim colors?
White is always a good option, as is a lighter shade of the predominant color. Choose a dark door color from the list of corresponding colors. Or choose a darker shade for siding and lighter shade for the door and trim.

Why not paint a “stone location” with a “wood” color?
You always want to paint your house a color that is harmonious for the direction it faces. If your house faces SW (an earth direction), and you paint it a wood color, such as green or brown, this will create difficulty with the relationships in the house.

Likewise, if you paint a south-facing house white, the residents might struggle with gaining recognition at work or have a problem with neighbors. The Five Element Theory explains more about how to select colors.

The 6 House Types that Prevent Prosperity – Could Your House Be One?

When your home has a poor arrangement or certain architectural characteristics, you could find that your financial situation is a constant struggle. Particular homes lend themselves to wonderful abundance and material prosperity and yet others offer only financial trial and tribulation for their owners.Some houses are more likely to help the occupants acquire the wealth they desire and those are the homes that have few, if any, feng shui challenges. Of course, every house has challenges, but some are more significant than others.

When you look at homes that have more serious obstacles to wealth accumulation, they fall along a number of lines. If your house isn’t one of the homes listed below, then count yourself lucky! If you do have a house that has one of the following challenges then you’ll be relieved to know there is a reason that money has been such a problem for you.

Houses that prevent prosperity are many, but some are more common than others. Below are several house types that stop material advancement and wealth and opportunities for their residents.

This house is shaped in such a way that there will be a serious case of missing sectors. When there are missing sectors, this can severely limit the opportunities that a house receives – and consequently the money that the residents make. This is also called the “cleaver” house because the shape is that of a cleaver – which cuts off opportunities wherever the missing corners fall. Correcting the missing sectors is important. An addition to the house or completing the house symbolically with a garden, a roof, etc., will help.

Emptiness house.
An emptiness house falls along the lines of the cardinal directions (N,S,E,W) and subdirections (SE,NW,NE,SW). This creates a very yin house that causes health complications, money is extremely difficult to generate, growth is futile and there is an overall lack of accomplishment. In short, nothing can succeed in an emptiness house. Correcting this is important because nothing can happen in a vacuum – and that is the best definition of a yin line.

Big mouth house.
Unfortunately, many architects have stressed the importance of automobiles versus people. These houses have giant, oversized garages that gobble up the energy that should be going into the house. You’ll notice the garage before the front door and this limits the opportunity for energy to enter the house. A picture of this type of house is above.

When homes, which are already yin to begin with, are cut off from the flow of energy, the residents cannot create financial traction. Acquiring wealth and growing financially is a struggle. Correcting this involves creating more energy at the front door and taking the emphasis away from the garage through the use of color or other design techniques.

Door and house facing differences.
When the door to a house faces a different direction than the house, this can create problems generating energy and bringing chi into the house. Growth slows and the financial picture becomes a question of just trying to retain what you have. To stimulate growth and prosperity, the door should be moved.

At the least, more emphasis should be placed at the door with lighting, color, and décor. If there are any large windows, these should be emphasized to allow energy to enter the house.

No support house.
The house that has ground that slopes away from the back of the house is in a constant state of trying to hold up financial appearances. The money seems to slip away and there is no accumulation of wealth. Lighting at the rear of the house will help to shore up the energy drain from the house.

Locked or imprisoned house.
The locked house is severely restricted in the ability to generate income. This is called an imprisoned house because the occupants simply have no choices in life – similar to being imprisoned. The locked house occurs at various time intervals and creates problems with conceiving children, businesses going bankrupt and an inability to maintain relationships.

If you live in a house that has not been updated since the last period (1984-2003), and have had severe difficulties, you might have a P’o chun (“breaker of armies”) house. Renovation, updating or redecorating is the key to unlocking your home.

If you have a house like one of these above, take heart. If you have a house that has one — or more — of these problems, get to work! Most can be corrected in some manner and that’s the good news. The wonderful part about feng shui is that it helps you to both diagnose the problem and helps you find the solution.

More Sex Equals More Money? How Feng Shui Ties Romance and Wealth Together

When Napoleon Hill wrote “Think and Grow Rich” he concluded that a very important aspect in the process of gaining wealth was tied to sex. He said that “The emotion of sex contains the secret of creative ability.” This “seat of power” and the ability to create is uniquely tied to feng shui.What’s especially interesting about sex and money in feng shui is that the wealth sector is also associated with the number four. Four is the number associated with romance and sex, academic achievement, sales, and writing. So, you could say that the number four is associated with creation and generation.

The problem with sex is that as you age, sexual activity lessens and not just because of lack of interest, although that certainly does happen, but because fatigue, work, stress, child-rearing and household duties get in the way.

Feng shui teaches that energy flows where energy goes. A German study confirms this. In a study of 32,000 couples, many who stopped having sex reported that the trend of little or no sex only became worse. In other words, less sex leads to even less or no sex.

But sex is good. We need to have sex

Making love makes us happy and content, relieves physical tension in all parts of the body (not just you-know-where) and is an important part of a committed relationship. Think about making love with your partner and think about how it feels to have a wad cash. Both make you smile. See the link? Interestingly, some of the times that I have been the most cash-strapped I also had less love and when the money was good so was the canoodling.

But is all sex good? No

The committed, loving type is what we’re after. This is the basis of good feng shui and good love – and is where the money-making potential resides. Promiscuity never makes you feel better, and it usually makes you feel worse.

What if you’re lacking a partner? Rather than going trolling in a trench coat to bars and taking the walk of shame in the morning that makes you feel terrible (and takes your money-making energy with it), make a romantic date with yourself. (No, not that way, but hey, if you wanna, I won’t judge you).

Instead, treat yourself to some luxurious lingerie, nice sheets, scented candle, read a romance novel or watch a romantic move with some wine. Just… treat yourself nice. You’ll love yourself for it.

If you do have a partner and your love life needs a jump start, follow this checklist to improve your love life and start the creative flow in the bedroom — and in your pocketbook!

___Schedule sex each week. That’s right, put it on the calendar. Rather than lacking spontaneity, scheduling intimate time together means that your love (and your cash) is important. Honor your creative and generating abilities – and your partnership – by making time for sex and romance.

___Have fun. Try a game, go “parking” in the garage, do a strip-tease. Don’t do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, but don’t hide under the covers either! Fun is good feng shui.

____Seek sensuality. Being sensual and romantic is extremely beneficial for a relationship rather than cheap, nasty, and wham-bam (well, unless that’s what you need). Get some great-feeling new sheets for your bed. Buy a soft and nubby throw for the bed or maybe one of those awesome fur throws. Get your skin used to being feeling wonderful textures. Get a body polish (my favorite!) at your local spa and a massage afterwards. Your skin will feel like silk – to you and to your honey.

___Get hormones. OK, girls: let’s face it, the angry, witchy wife is nobody’s friend and will scare off even the most hard-up husband. If you would rather clean your toenails than have sex, something is wrong. Get to your GYN and get some hormones or some help — you don’t have to retire to a convent because your libido is low.

___Hold your horses. OK, guys: let’s face it, you’re always ready no matter what. Well, we aren’t. If you’re a guy and you’re reading this, I’m going to tell you what your sweetie won’t. No woman likes to show interest and then you go from 0 to 120 MPH in an instant. Slow down, talk to her, touch her and then see what happens.

___Make a date for no sex. Sounds boring, right? Well, make a date for the bedroom and do anything but have sex. I guarantee you won’t be able to keep your hands off each other. Works like a charm and gets everybody fired up.

Revitalizing love with feng shui

___Remove pictures of everyone except the couple in the room – especially the kids.
___Remove all work objects (computers, phones, piles of paper)
___Make sure your bed is up to the task and doesn’t squeak, creak, or feel like it will break with a little activity
___Place a happy photo of the two of you in the bedroom
___Get rid of any and all plants or flowers – these kill romance
___Have two bedside tables with matching lamps. You need bedroom parity for both partners.

When we see attractive people it’s hard not to think that their looks can’t help but make the road of life smoother and easier for them. But that’s not always so.

Attractive, and, yes, beautiful people can be just as prone to making dumb mistakes and poor choices as anyone else. Perhaps it’s their beauty that betrays them and makes people prey upon them or they suffer from narcissism. But what really makes one beautiful – and do our looks affect our wealth?

To the Chinese way of thinking that answer is yes. The Chinese developed an ancient art called face reading and have categorized eyes, noses, foreheads, even moles and pimples to be an indicator of whether we are wealthy or plagued with financial problems.
The following explains some of the typical facial features and what they mean for your prosperity.

Skin quality affects wealth. Your skin should have a healthy glow about it and a moist and fleshy appearance. If it’s dry and flaky, you’ll tend toward bad financial luck. If the face is oily, there is a tendency to lose money. Facial skin should look fresh and glowing, moist and with a hint of red color.

Outward appearance attracts wealth. You needn’t be a super-model to attract greater prosperity. Merely by holding your face with a pleasant and alert look, the response from others is more positive and it attracts good luck to you. Dour-looking people attract dour situations and circumstances, including financial problems. So change your luck just by planting a smile on your puss.

Moles have meaning. There are many hidden meanings to moles in the Chinese view. Typically facial moles are not considered good luck, especially if they are dark or black-colored. Red moles are thought to bring good fortune, however. Moles on the forehead bring power and authority and those on the mouth bring prosperity and speaking skill. Moles on the center line of the face, nose, or cheeks bring lost opportunity and negative circumstances. Surgical removal may be necessary.

Facial flaws draw problems. No one is endowed with a perfect face, but when your face has flaws, such as extremely dark circles under the eyes (which can cause problems with children) and make you look tired, it can affect people’s perceptions of you – and your perception of yourself.

In the Western view, certain locations of moles can look witchy and will cause people to respond to you negatively. Many times these areas can be corrected by good skin care, clever use of make-up, or even simple plastic surgery. If you have heard comments about your looks, perhaps it’s affecting your outlook on life and maybe even your pocketbook. Consider your options and determine if this is something you’d like to improve.

Pimples foretell expenses. When pimples arise it seems it’s at the point of something important such as a meeting or important interview, doesn’t it? Pimples are thought to be indicators of expenses, however, rather than embarrassment.

When a pimple arises on the nose, it will cause a big expense within two weeks. If the pimple is on the side of the nose, then the expense is unexpected. If it’s on the top, then this is a good expense such as a new car or furniture. Pimples on the forehead will give you car and travel problems.

A nose for wealth. Many Chinese follow the nose for indicating your potential for wealth luck. A large nose often indicates wealth. Large nostrils that can be seen when looking straight on indicate loss of wealth. Skinny, pinched noses often mean loss of wealth, i.e., Michael Jackson.

Locate your facial wealth palaces. There are two locations that indicate wealth on the face: the nose and the forehead. The forehead represents your authority and position and the nose represents your actual earnings. When the forehead and the nose are fleshy and well-proportioned, that indicates wealth. When your nose or forehead are small, bony, and thin-skinned, it indicates lack of wealth.

Studies have shown that attractive people earn more. Attractive people are characterized as physically beautiful, tall, and at a healthy weight. One study estimated attractive people earned more than 10% than their plainer counterparts, indicating how much looks count. Even so, the plainest person is always made more beautiful by a vibrant, happy countenance. So put your “best face” forward – and you might change your money luck!

Some of the best feng shui isn’t all about turtles and fountains, mountains and facing directions. It’s about fun. Good feng shui can change to great feng shui with the addition of fun, enjoyment, festivities and happy times. That’s because the vibrations of laughter and enjoyment permeate our surroundings and if you home is the location for happy gatherings full of festive people, then you’ve done a lot toward making your feng shui better – and that changes your outlook, your happiness, and your bottom line, too!

Most truly wealthy people have lots of fun and enjoyment in life – most likely because they can afford it. But, that’s not the only reason why. Every time we have pleasant and enjoyable times in our house, we build on happiness energy. This kind of energy creates excellent sheng chi that raises our energy level and that attracts prosperity and business and financial opportunities. Try these tips for increasing your “fun” shui.

Have fun at home.
Make your home party central. By inviting guests and enjoying pleasant conversation and good times, you do a lot to lift the energy of your home. Even simple steps like playing games with your family fill your home with laughter. Or, try making a family meal in the formal dining room on Saturday or Sunday nights a weekly treat. All of these things can raise your chi and the chi of your home.

Liven up yourself.
A friend of mine once joked that she had enough black clothes in her closet to outfit eight women for a funeral. Bring extra energy to yourself and lift your personal chi by wearing bright and vivid colors. The colors imbue us with their energy. On days I want to be extra productive and energetic, I wear brown slacks (big wood) with a red shirt (fire) because big wood makes a big fire! Money on your mind? Wear black pants and a green shirt. Want to get along with everyone and inspire happiness? Pair beige or gold pants with a red shirt.

Bring in new energy.
New objects for the home brings new energy to your home. A new object for yourself re-energizes you. Or, try doing something new. Explore a nearby city, go to a new restaurant, do something you’ve always wanted to do or try. New energy is so important. It keeps our homes and us revitalized and energetic. Keeping ourselves surrounded by new energy helps keep our energy level high and looking forward in an expectantly positive outlook – and that draws more love, money, and happiness to us.

Figure out what makes you happy.
If a bouncy new kitten makes you break out in a smile, why not go to your local shelter and adopt a new cat? It’s important that we make choices that make us happy. Sometimes the hard part is figuring out what that is that makes us happy. Make a list of ten things that make you happy – whether that’s hot chocolate in the morning or a cute figurine on your desk. If you see something you really love, and I mean really love, buy it. There is no better feng shui than being surrounded by things you really, truly love and enjoy.

Symbolize happiness.
Once you know what happiness looks like to you, find a symbol for it. Maybe that symbol is a word, a figurine (I just love lucky cats!), or something you have already. One important symbol for happiness in feng shui is Buddha. A fat, happy Buddha often carries a bag in one hand or over his shoulder or sits on a bag. This symbolizes his carrying your burdens and worries. For this reason, I keep one on my desk to cheer me with his chipper countenance.

Another symbol of happiness is the lucky cat. The darling cats bring happiness energy to the cash registers of many Asian businesses – and money. I have a small collection of them myself. Annual animals are also another harbinger of happiness. Each year, small figures of the animal of the year are made and sold in Asian gifts shops. Many of them are happy and smiling. Last year I bought a smiling rat and this year I have a happy ox! Find one that appeals to you and makes you happy.

9 Ways to Stimulate Wealth Using Chinese Coins

Wherever you go in Hong Kong, you see Chinese symbols of wealth and money. The ubiquitous symbol you see most often is the lucky Chinese coin. These coins are round with a square hole in the center. They represent both heaven (the circle) and earth (the square).

In Asia, the really old coins are the most highly regarded and valued. These good fortune coins adorn other symbols as well. You will almost always see a money frog sitting on a pile of coins. The yearly animal will also be shown sitting on a pile of lucky, or good fortune, Chinese Coins.

Good fortune coins come in many varieties. Some have trigrams and animal signs on them. Others will have trigrams and mantras. The most common coins are the ones with a dragon and phoenix on one side and Chinese characters on the other side. The coins are often printed with two meanings, either “your wealth has arrived” or “your luck has arrived.” I don’t know about you, but this sounds pretty great either way!

There are a multitude of ways to use the coins as feng shui wealth enhancers around your home or business. Tie them in groups of three, six, and nine with red ribbon to activate them with a spark of energy. Always place them with the Chinese character side up. Next, use the ideas below to activate your home, office, and business for prosperity with these lucky coins.

1. Walk on gold.
Make walking into your home an act of prosperity by placing lucky coins under a welcome mat or carpet inside the entrance to your home. Replacing your carpets? Scatter coins all over the floor under your new carpeting!

2. Talking money.
Place coins under your work phone or tape them to the back of your phone or cell phone.

3. Draw money to your pocketbook.
Carry the three-tied coins in your wallet, checkbook, or purse to activate wealth and draw wealth to you.

4. Energize your investment records and account books.
Magnetize your accounts with wealth-producing chi by taping or placing good fortune coins to your account files.

5. Supercharge your fountains.
If you have a fountain indoors or out, you can supercharge it by placing six lucky Chinese coins under the fountain.

6. Create a foundation of wealth.
Anytime you build an addition, a new home or install a new swimming pool, imbed the walls with as many Chinese coins as you can.

7. Stimulate your cash register.
If you have a business, place coins under your register and on the sides.

8. Give to get.
When you want to receive, sometimes that’s when it’s the hardest – but also the most important time – to give to someone else. Make a gift of coins to someone else when they need to boost their prosperity.

9. Activate your office.
Place coins under your office chair to help you create more money as you work. Tape coins onto your computer if your work is mostly on the computer. Tape coins to your fax machine to bring in more sales and add a string of coins to your office or business door.
