One of the most common questions in feng shui is what color to paint a bedroom. Bedroom color is an important choice because we always want our bedrooms to support our rest and relaxation.
Colors that are soft, muted, and easy on the eyes are always preferable to bright and energized colors, such as a crimson red or bright blue.
Think of terms of the restful quality of the colors you select, whether it’s for wall color or your bedding.
If Kelly green is one of your favorite shades, consider a light version of this color on a paint color strip, such as mint.
Pale or pastel shades are one way to keep bright colors from feeling too energetic in your bedroom.
Use these guidelines to help you select a supportive bedroom color that helps you sleep well, protects your health and relationship, and recharges and refreshes you.
1. Skin tone colors.
Because skin tones are a color that humans are comfortable with, these make a wonderful choice of color for a bedroom in any direction. These colors represent a feng shui neutral that works in almost any corner.
Choose from white, ivory, pale pink or rose, yellow, tan, and brown colors. Balance all tones with white. For romance, skin tone shades, especially those with a rosy tone, are most appealing and sensual.
2. Watch over-saturation.
While color is a wonderful thing when there is too much of it or it’s overwhelming, such as all four walls and ceiling painted blue. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a navy blue bedroom. You can, but it’s important to balance a deep shade with plenty of light colors, such as cream, ivory, or white.
3. Keep ceilings painted white.
Although it can be tempting to paint the ceiling with your wall color, it’s always best to use white on ceilings. This is the color of heaven, and it helps to lift the energy of the bedroom particularly if the walls are a bright or dark color.
4. Colors for love?
Besides skin tones of beige, ivory, tan, and brown, are there colors that are helpful for love? There are two. The first is a pink tone. Not only does pink help create warm feelings, but it can also help attract love. If you’ve been single too long, this is a color to consider.
Seriously single? Then it’s time to use the second color of romance: peach.
If you’re ready to attract a new love to your life and it’s been tough going, this color is helpful for drawing new love interests to you.
Peach is a color that is known to attract admirers, but it’s best to use only if you’re ready to date and get serious. Once you find your object of affection, repaint your bedroom to a new shade.
Peach is a color that can sometimes draw admirers who are only out for a good time. That’s why it’s important that when you paint your bedroom that you are diligent in love and make sure your new admirer is interested in you and not just a fling.
If you’re considering trying out a peach color, start by painting just one wall behind your bed first to see what happens. And, of course, you have to do your part like mixing and mingling, checking dating apps, and asking friends and family for introductions. If suitors don’t show up, go on and paint the rest of the bedroom with peach paint.
For those already partnered, peach colors aren’t recommended as they can create interest outside the relationship.

5. Select colors based on the corner where your bedroom is located.
This is another option to use in your feng shui color box: choosing by direction. Look at the directions below to help you select a color that is supportive of the corner where your bedroom is located.

6. Choose harmonized and supportive colors first.
By selecting a harmonized or supportive color, you are helping to create harmony in the corner of your home where your bedroom is located. This supports your health and well-being because the color and the elements are in alignment.
The reverse is also true and this is why you should avoid defeating colors.
For example, a southwest bedroom should not be painted green because the wood color of green will defeat the southwest corner’s earth energy.
When you sleep, you are at your most vulnerable to the energies around you. When a bedroom doesn’t have colors that are in alignment, you may find that difficulties befall you.
Additionally, you may notice that your income suffers, or you don’t rest well, you may have health problems, or your relationship is strained and difficult.
To ensure refreshing sleep, recharged relationship – or attract one – and protecting your health and wealth, choose the right color. This helps you and your home work together harmoniously with the energies of your bedroom for better rest and better support in life.
