Feng shui is often used to improve your life in love, money, and happiness. But what about when you have a problem, like feeling your life never grows or improves, or if you have an addiction?
There are ways to use feng shui to help you move past trauma, manage self-defeating behaviors, and see your life’s circumstances change.
Transformation
Sometimes our greatest wish in life is to see our lives change for the better, to be better, or find a new way of being or becoming. This part of the bagua that most pertains to personal transformation is the north sector, and this sector is important no matter what personal transformation you wish to achieve.
The north corner relates to our life path, which doesn’t always mean career path.
There can be blockages in this corner that affect you in other areas than on the job. Working on this corner of your home can help you overcome those blockages and barriers.
This is also a helpful area when you’re uncertain of what you want to do with your life or you’re undecided about your job and life’s purpose.
Transformation blockages.
Look for large earth elements in this corner or excess wood element. If you have a very large piece of wooden furniture here, moving it to another location can be helpful in creating more flow in your life and in your outlook.
Activators.
Look for items that you can use to promote greater flow and a smooth and easy transition from one state to another. Round or circular objects are helpful as are blue colors and images of water and water-related figures, like seashells or fish.
Unresolved Issues
Moving forward in life often depends on our ability to move past certain experiences and situations. However, we can often become grounded in a problem, or the pain associated with it, like being electrocuted.
Electrocution happens because it freezes you to the electrical current, paralyzing you. Trauma works this way, too, keeping you trapped and unable to move because you’re tied to the electric current (emotion/erroneous thinking) and your mind can’t break its grip.
This is the domain of the northeast sector, the wisdom, and education corner of your home.
This area rules the mind and is a vital corner for helping you move ahead and get past old habits and problems.
This sector is helpful for emotional issues that you can’t move on from or if you have issues with anything chronic, like pain, Epstein-Barr virus, chronic fatigue syndrome, or fibromyalgia.
Of course, feng shui is complementary to other treatment modalities and qualified healthcare is essential, but working in tandem with your actions and your home can help loosen the grip so you can begin moving again.
Mental blockages.
Oversized plants and large metal objects can interfere with thinking and create blockages that help you move toward resolution. Look for and move over-sized wooden objects, excess metal objects, and plants from this sector.
Activators.
Look for clarity by adding clear, glass objects such as crystal balls and crystals. Quartz crystal points are also excellent for enhancing thought. Look for figures and mentors who represent the thoughtfulness and clear thinking you need to help you overcome the mental wheel your mind is caught on.
These figures can include a globe, objects of thought such as self-help books, motivational quotes, religious icons and figures, mentors, and teachers like Einstein, Buddha, or Tony Robbin or Brene Brown. Whoever speaks to you best is the right figure to have.
Placing these reminders around can be useful for helping your mind focus on what you want to think and how you want your life to shift to a new way of thinking and feeling that finally frees you.
