FIREPLACE & THE FRONT DOOR
A fireplace opposite a front door can cause you to go through money quickly, suffer from a lack of opportunities or could create an accident. If possible, work to block the view of the fireplace with a console table, curtain or other decorative object.
There are always worries around where a fireplace is located. Below are the areas where fireplace is located and what it symbolizes, and how to handle its energy.
North – This is a water location and a fireplace located here can add steam power to your career. In general, though, water controls fire, so this shouldn’t pose a problem when a fireplace is located in this sector. If there are concerns around money, add a mirror above the fireplace to add more energy.
Northeast and Southwest – These two sectors are earth locations, and the fire in the fireplace strengthens these two corners. Having a fireplace located here can help students, sons, and thinking (northeast), or the woman of the home, romance, marriage and relationships (southwest). A mirror here is fine as is images of earth objects, such as mountains or a television.
East and Southeast – These two corners are wood corners. Having a fireplace located here isn’t considered auspicious. In the east, the fireplace can harm health, the oldest son, or family relationships. In the southeast, a fireplace could affect the oldest daughter and your assets, such as investments and the ability to save money. If your fireplace is located here, it would be a good idea to place a large picture of water, such as a mountain with a lake scene or an ocean view over the fireplace. A mirror can also be placed here to help boost the energy.
South – This is the corner of fire, so having a fireplace located here would be harmonized with the direction. Adding an image of trees, a television, or a mirror over the fireplace would all work well here.
West and Northwest – These two are metal corners, and fire is especially detrimental here. In the west, the descendant’s direction, a fireplace could be harmful for the daughters of the family. A mirror or image of water or a mountain here will help to tame the fire’s energy. Adding gems or vases here will also strengthen the west’s energy.
If you have a fireplace in the northwest, you should not only work to place a large image of either an ocean scene or of a mountain over the fireplace, you should also avoid using it at all.
This is because the northwest represents the energy of the father, the breadwinner, and heaven. Having fire located here can cause loss of the man or loss for the man. It can also cause serious illness or health problems. For those reasons, it shouldn’t be used.
DÉCOR FOR THE FIREPLACE — Do’s and Don’ts
In addition to where the fireplace is located, it’s also important to observe what you place over it.
Family images. Many families like to put a portrait or picture of the family over their fireplace. This is not good symbolism for the family as this could cause tempers to flare and it represents the family unit burning.
Religious images. These are regarded as heavenly, and for that reason, should also not be symbolized with a fire beneath them.
Televisions. These are fine when placed over a fireplace and are becoming the trend and can activate energy that the fireplace burns up.
Mirrors. Mirrors are an excellent décor object to place over the fireplace and activate energy that is burned up by the fireplace.
