It may not seem like fame and recognition are important, but they are. This part of feng shui and your life directly relates to how others see you and how you present yourself in the world.
When you have good fame luck, opportunities often find you and others promote you and open doors for you.
When fame and recognition energy is low, it seems like you’re lost in a crowd with little or no recognition and no opportunities for introductions, recognition, or that boost your reputation and social status.
Life is lackluster.
LACK OF RECOGNITION AND POOR FAME LUCK
When you suffer from a lack of recognition, you can miss out on many important parts of life. At work, you may be passed over for a promotion or seemingly never get a raise, or you are paid much lower than your fellow co-workers.
You may also feel that friendships are hard to come by and that relationships with others are strained or difficult. Maybe your own family takes you for granted or gives you little support or encouragement, and friends only offer judgment instead of encouragement.
This is the domain of the south corner.
This corner relates to the way others relate to us and how we interact with the world in general. When we have difficulties in the fame direction we may not always act in integrity or we feel the need to be judgmental.
This is the corner that relates to yang energy and fire.
Yang energy is vibrant and when you are in a good mood and you are happy and upbeat, people naturally gravitate toward you.
This attraction is helpful for gaining recognition and a positive reputation whether that’s as a friend, a neighbor, an employee, or a business owner.
When you feel like people aren’t responsive to you or that you get little or no notice, the south corner should be looked at thoroughly.
In health, low fame luck can manifest in low vitality and energy, heart palpitations, eye problems or tics, and stress and anxiety that may make you feel timid and withdrawn. You may experience thyroid problems or issues with depression and weight gain.
Another area where south-related blockages show up is in a generalized lack of joy and a ho-hum existence. When you feel blocked in this area of your life you may feel defeated, have old feelings of shame and guilt, or feel pervasively numb.
Happiness and a feeling of success, joy, and spontaneity may elude you when reputation, fame, and recognition luck are low.
I can see clearly now
Because this is the sector of the eyes, there may be something in your life that you aren’t willing to see plainly or that you turn a blind eye to or look away from.
It’s important to identify areas where you may have been avoiding or facing and looking at directly and how those areas are keeping you from feeling fulfilled, successful, or feeling joy and happiness.
You may have situation that’s been vaporous, confusing, or that you can’t see clearly and you want to see a new way of doing or being.
You want to bring light to a situation to help you to see a solution. This is all part of the south and the fame and recognition energy.
Fire blockages.
Elements of water and earth are the two elements that undermine your energy and fame luck, keeps joy in check, and promotes a bland and listless feeling. This is also true if the south corner is missing or if you have a bathroom located in this corner.
Fame blocks have a way of making you feel smothered, the way earth smothers fire.
Are there people in your life who are smothering you and making you feel drained?
Maybe there is someone in your workplace or home life who doesn’t want you to succeed, or who consistently rains on your parade.
Or there may be circumstances that are set up against you in work or your home life.
The element of water or blue colors may be too prominent in the south corner of your home. Or, you may have an excess of earth element that is pressing down on your fame and success luck.
Activators.
Sometimes the best activation is the removal of items that are blocking your joy and that drain your energy. That may mean it’s a good idea to spend less time with people who are rude to you or that undermine you, and instead seek out a circle of friends or others who are positive, upbeat, and encouraging.
Add fame-related colors of red, pink, fuchsia, and bright orange.
These are the colors of fame. You can also use brown and green colors to harmonize and feed the fire energy of the south corner.
If this is your bedroom, add an image of a bird in the south corner rather than paint your bedroom red, which could be too stimulating.
Also be sure to activate the south corner of your living room.
Employ fame symbols of the south such as bird motifs.
These can be images of birds, especially birds like the phoenix, peacock, or rooster. When people want to talk about their accomplishments, they often want to “crow” about it – and we all know there is not a day that passes that the rooster doesn’t crow. That’s what makes the rooster such a positive symbol for the south corner.
You can also add a bright light, lava lamp, candles, and red-colored objects to add more life and yang energy to the south sector. This will help to give you a boost of energy and lighten up your mood.
What do you want in your life?
Add words that relate to fame and recognition luck like “Achievement,” or “Accomplishment” and display images of people who you admire and those who have made a name for themselves. Be sure to add diplomas, awards, plaques, and any accomplishments to a fame wall.
Track your goals.
If you feel like there’s no joy in your life, keep a list of goals of things that you want to do and that bring you happiness. Make the list of both small ones that you can accomplish easily to more significant ones that may require more effort or planning, and then work on them and crossing each one off.
In this corner of your home and office, display items that are pointed such as stars, conical, triangles, or pyramids, or that depict light rays, images of the sun, fire, and brightly-colored artwork.
Do a mental housecleaning.
One of the ways you press down on your heart is to carry around shame, guilt, disappointment, and regret. One of the ways you help your heart is to put things in our path that we aspire to, look forward to, and that we enjoy.
That can range from regular lunch dates with a friend, scheduled travel and entertainment, and making vacation plans.
In order to be different, you must see different….that means getting out of your normal routines (ruts?) and doing something you enjoy that’s out of your routine, and one of the best ways to do that?
Travel.
Few people come back from vacation feeling worse than when they left. Travel is experientially expansive and when we have low fame luck, we feel closed in and confined. Like the famous cruise ship marketing slogan, it’s time “get out there!”
One of the reasons travel is so important is because it makes you see something new, you engage in new experiences, you open your eyes and heart to an adventure, and this feeds your sense of self, stokes the fires of joy, and gives your heart a thrill.
On a personal level, make an effort to be more friendly and sociable.
Speak to people often and practice keeping a slight smile on your face when you’re out and about.
Drop any tendencies to make negative comments and judgments. Instead, offer up compliments and visualize sending love to everyone who throws water on your fire.
Bring your boss a Danish or make some cookies to bring into the company break room. Find ways to be cheerful, and spread joy and positivity.
Those ripples you send out will soon return to you and change your fame and recognition luck.
